Jonathan and Ashley Engagement

After such a long break we are so excited to get behind the camera again!  We met up with Jon and Ashley to do their engagement pictures in Loveland.  So much to shoot in Loveland, we just had such a great time going around to all the different shops and scenes.  They interact very well together and you just know their love is strong.  We were able to capture some beautiful moments.  Thank you Jon and Ashley!!  We are unbelievably excited for June! :)   The Loveland Sweets!!!  And my two favorite pictures of the day:

Pilgrimage

If you remember, we had the opportunity to shoot portraits of Kara Huber , an outstanding concert pianist from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.  She just released her debut album titled Pilgrimage .  I had a chance to listen to it and it is rather impressive.  It also has the inherit benefit of being the kind of music you play to your children to make them smarter. :)   Check it out!

Richard & Bethany

We traveled to northern Ohio, but it might as well been the north pole!  It was such a cold day, which is unusual considering how warm it has been this season.  Richard and Bethany definitely get props for bearing Old Man Winter with his 10 degrees Fahrenheit!  But I am so glad that we did get to shoot and get the shots we got.  Richard and Bethany are getting married in September this year and I can already tell it is going to be an awesome day.  Favorite shot was Bethany showing Richard what a snowball fight is really all about!

Art Show

We are going to be participating in the Essex Studios Art Walk this year!  The show will be on March 2nd & 3rd from 6pm to 11pm.  Check out their website for directions: http://www.essexstudios.com I am very excited to be showing our fine art and travel photography.  I always, at first, dread putting together pieces to print, frame, and show but after I get the prints it is unbelievably rewarding.  I am super ecstatic for these pieces.  They are huge!  The largest print is 20x30.  Most of the pieces are from our travels to Italy, San Francisco, Mexico, and Colombia.  They will be for sale and we are going to be donating a significant portion of the sales to Luz y Vida.  Hope to see you there!

Winter Months and Travels

Winter is usually really quite for us.  (Though here in Cincinnati, I can’t say that we have gotten much of a winter. Seriously!).  I usually take the time during winter to have a break, reflect, and maybe actually cook a homemade meal.  I normally vow to take a couple weeks off.  It’s ironic though, because that sabbatical usually lasts about a week and a half and then I get anxious to pick up the camera again. If I could I would become a travel/nature photographer.  It is hands down the best job in the world -- a professional tourist!  There are some amazing travel photographers out there that I could only aspire to be as good as.  To be a travel photographer you basically have to take photos that people think are photoshopped because there is no way they can pull off that shot.  But I still like to try my hand at it – and I have to use photoshop. :) Almost a year ago Melanie and I had the wonderful privilege of visiting Italy.  W...

New Year and New Website

So excited for this next coming year!  I am proud to say that we have a new website up too!  Clean and simple and to the point.  We are so excited this year for all the weddings that we have.  Lots of great things coming this year.  It’s going to be a good year.
